The CAME Yamaha team return to the Silverstone Arena GP circuit this weekend for the penultimate round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship as James Westmoreland and Billy McConnell set their sights on victory.
The CAME Yamaha team have already raced at the 3.66-mile circuit when they competed in the round of the World Supersport Championship round earlier in the season and are hoping that they can use the experience to their advantage. James Westmoreland currently lies second overall in the championship standings, whilst for Billy McConnell a strong finish at Silverstone could elevate him from his fifth place.
Westmoreland said: "I am looking forward to Silverstone and we already have a game plan after a good debrief with the team after Croft. I think the main opposition in the race will be from Sam (Lowes), my team-mate Billy and Alex (Lowes) as we have a slight advantage as we have all raced there earlier in the year at the World Supersport Championship round. The second place at Croft secured second in the championship so I have nothing to lose; I just want to go out and win the last two races as I want to finish the year on a high for the CAME Yamaha team."
McConnell said:"It was a disappointing weekend at Croft for me, but I know that we can fight back at Silverstone this weekend. We already have some good data from the World Supersport Championship round and I think we are going to be in a good position to really fight at the front again. I need to make amends at Silverstone and that means winning the race. There are still two races and I want to put myself back up there in the standings so that we can end the year as we started it. There is no question about it; I want to win the Silverstone race."
