The first records of racing at Croft date back to the 1920s, but it was after World War 2 that Croft circuit became a significant motorsport venue.

The former RAF base started hosting motorsport events in 1962, with the tarmac going down two years later. However it wasn't until the circuit received a timely overhaul in 1997 that its recent success started to gather momentum, with the introduction of Superbike action.

In the past decade the North Yorkshire venue has been extended to 2.127 miles with new pits, paddock complex, control tower and spectator areas being constructed.
